Love? So What!?

A Love Revolution? Sounds strangely familiar. We know the concept. We've heard it probably more than once. So what's up with this one? With this revolution? Is it like the famous 60's revolution? We pray not. Well, perhaps we want how infectious it was, but without all that "other" stuff. This revolution is as simple as it is old.

Jesus talked a lot about love. Love your neighbor as yourself. Reach out to those who are afflicted and in need. True religion is about the widow and the orphan, see a need and do something about it. But how many times do we hear this? How many people give their lives to it as Jesus did?

And that is where we are today. People are looking for true religion. People are looking for the type of life Jesus lived, looking for the kinds of things he did. The "going about doing the work of the Father," is what people are looking for and needing to see.

Does that mean its time to grow out the beard and put on the sandals? Perhaps :) But since we think Jesus would shave up to a nicely groomed beard with soul-patch and snatch some Reef beach sandals, it means replicating what he did and what he stood for.

It means doing something, anything, to show people that for the sake of God's incredible love, we will go above and beyond to convey it. It might look like chasing down the ball your neighborhood kids kicked down the street, picking up the tab for someone you don't know at Starbucks, raising some money to fund an orphanage oversees, standing up for the oppressed and giving voice to the forgotten. It means fulfilling the call to love; everyday, every way, until suffering gives up and God's justice is supreme.

Sound good to you? Want to join us? Talk about it? Give good ideas how you do it? We want it all. The only thing that stands in your way, is YOUR way. Die to self, live for others and watch as your life goes madly and beautifully out of control.

I AM THE LOVE REVOLUTION.

So you are asking "what's love got to do with it?"
